Fair-quote rules
- The quote should name material, profile (5-inch or 6-inch), and approximate linear feet.
- Seamless vs sectional belongs in writing. A vinyl price on an aluminum job is not comparable.
- Removal, downspouts, and haul-away should be included or priced.

How many linear feet does a house need?
Many single-family houses need 150–200 ft of gutter, plus 4–8 downspouts. A wrap-around ranch or a detached garage run pushes that over 200 ft. Ask the quote to state the footage, not just “the house.”
Are seamless gutters worth more than sectional?
Usually, for aluminum and steel. Seamless runs are formed on site and have fewer joints, which is where leaks start. Vinyl is sectional only. A vinyl per-foot price on a seamless aluminum quote is not the same job.
Should fascia repair be in the gutter quote?
If the boards are soft, stained, or pulling away, yes — as its own line. A cheap gutter number that ignores rotten fascia is not a complete quote.
